How to take a Home Language Qualification

Year 8 is the earliest the School would recommend taking GCSE examinations and Year 10, for GCEs (A Levels). This is due to the educational and emotional maturity required in taking public examinations.

In the first instance, parents should contact the EAL Coordinator with their inquiry and the administration of the language qualification will be carried out by the Examination Department.

The School charges a fee to cover the cost of administration. The School stresses that it can only administer the qualifications and it is unable to take responsibility for supplying Oral Examiners unless the language is taught formally at the School.
