So proud of our group, 6S&6P. Having a really good time and a perfect first night. Still no little voices 15 minutes before waking them up… A first!
All arrived, safe and sound. now at War Museum.
On Thursday 2nd October, the Junior Girls’ School joined forces with the Boys’ Prep and celebrated our 130th birthday in true style. The boys and girls could not believe their eyes when they arrived at Hinchley Wood on a beautifully sunny afternoon – the whole place was full of different activities and games for them to try.
130 years ago, what did children like to play? Our pupils had the opportunity to find out and try a few themselves. Spinning hoops, skipping, marble games, croquet, hoopla, pin the tail on the donkey and enacting a Victorian drama were only a few of the choices. Of course, we also had some 21st century fun too – the bouncy castle proved to be very popular. However, the highlight of the afternoon (apart from the cup cakes!) was the hilarious Punch and Judy show. Special thanks must go to the team of junior staff members who worked so hard to make this day a success; a day that will live long in the memory of everyone who came along.

For European languages week in SHS Junior Girls Reception classes, we held multicultural story sessions. We invited R eception mums in to read stories in their home language and had a fantastic response.
On Thursday we listened to stories in Swedish and in Greek.
The Greek story telling was shared between mum and Reception daughter.
On Friday we had a wonderful version of the Enormous Turnip retold in Russian, followed by a French traditional tale.
We look forward to our stories in Farsi and Italian next week.
Nos encanta la lectura!
