An Introduction to ClickView Online
**The latest ClickView catalogue has arrived and a copy has been delivered to each Head of Department, with an extra copy placed in the main staff room**
ClickView Online is a digital video platform that gives you access to educational videos and TV programmes for you to use in your classroom or for your students to use for revision. Both you and your students have access to ClickView Online using your normal School username and password. Click here to access the service.
Once you have logged in, you will have access to the different areas which catalogue by subject the videos that are available to you. Most videos are to be found under the label Exchange. Your Department has the option to purchase more videos in the Media Store.
There is also a section called 24-7 Cloud, which allows you to watch anything that has been broadcast free-to-air in the last two weeks. If you wish to save a programme for longer, you’ll need to add it to your Workspace, where it can be saved indefinitely or pushed to the library server for permanent storage.
You do not need to save the whole programme from 24-7 Cloud. If, for example, you’re only interested in a short clip from a long programme to start of a lesson, set up a classroom activity or use for homework, you can edit the video before you add it to your work space. Only the clip will be saved.
Whole videos or clips can be shared by linking to the the url (or web address) that ClikView generates. You can also embed the video into a Digital Learning Space by copying and pasting the code that is also automatically generated by ClickView.
Below is an example of a short clip I have edited out of a longer programme (you may have to log in using your School username and password to view it):
Video resolution can be toggled between low and high resolution. You can also create your own playlists.
We would be very interested in receiving feedback about using ClickView to support your lessons. Please don’t hesitate to let us know.
