Your new iPad comes comes out of the box almost fully charged, ready for you to start using it immediately if you wish to do so.

Apple’s website has a very good introduction to the iPad.  It’s well worth a quick browse by means of introduction, as are Apple’s iPad in Education Pages.

The first thing you need to do is to set it up, following the on-screen instructions and the instructions in these slides (click on them to make them bigger):

One of the things that you must do during the setting up of your iPad is to create an iCloud account, which is free (credit card details need to be entered for verification purposes and to pay for future purchases if you wish to make them. However, no money is taken unless you buy apps, ibooks, music or video at a later stage). If you are wondering what iCloud is what what it does, please click here.

The original PowerPoint file can be downloaded from the School Network under Staff Admin/Digital Strategy Steering Group.

Please do not hesitate to ask me or a member of the Digital Strategy Steering Group (names were circulated by email) if you need any help at all. We’re more than happy to help.

If you prefer to book some time with me to take you through the set up process, please don’t hesitate to ask.
