As Christmas approaches our annual Nativity took place on Friday. The boys were amazing. As always, I was very proud of Reception, Year 1 sang beautifully and Year 2 held it all together and told us the story. Here are a few photos for you.
Welcome back Year 2- we have had a very busy, yet productive week so far. The boys have worked incredibly hard and adapted to the next phase on their learning journey.
In English, we have revisited full stops and capital letters in writing. Over the next few weeks, we will be reading Harry and the Bucketful of Dinosaurs (and more in the series) and using these stories to write our own narrative.
In Maths, our focus has been on number: ordering numbers with 1-3 digits; using vocabulary, smaller, bigger; smallest, largest. As well as, counting in steps of: 2, 5, 10 and 3.
Our topic has been a huge success, especially helped by having a visit from Archie the Paleontologist. He left us a note to ask for some help on gathering information on certain dinosaurs.
There will be no homework this weekend; this will start next week.
Today, we wanted to view the solar eclipse…but it was too cloudy. All of Key Stage 1 went out into the playground and we talked about what was happening and how to to correctly use our pinhole viewers. Maybe we will see it in 11 years time…
